Magnifier

What kind of magnifier do you use?
The reason I ask this question is I just lost my magnifier and need to get another one.
The one that I used before is not really good.
I will appreciated your inputs.image

In my mind there is only one option, an Eschenbach. Although they cost more than a B&L or one of the off brands they are well worth the extra expense.

You can't be a real coin geek unless you have an Eschenbach!image

In one of my other interests, a 10x loupe is the industry standard. You want high qualtiy optics, such as the companies mentioned, and you want as large a diameter as available, in the lens.

  • I use Zeiss 6X and 10X large diameter handhelds. If I need higher magnification I use a Meiji stereo microscope with zoom ranges from3.5X to 22X.

You can't get any BETTER than a Zeiss.

    But, they're expensive...

Mine is a no name brand. It's a 3 in 1 loupe that has 3 small 5X loups in the casing so you can see in 5X or 10X or 15X. I love it.

I use the same no name set up and it works fine for me.
