Larger, clear picture and you'd have a better chance.

From those tiny pictures? No way.

However, I can see enough to tell me it looks more like a medal than a coin.

    What the others said! image

So, any clues? What kind of writing is on it or the box? (looks like asian characters below the logo on the box??) Any numbers anywhere? etc...

Ok, the only markings that I recognize is the word "OKAYAMA" and the emblem above the bird to the right is in gold. But there is no date that I saw. It's very heavy.

  • If I was to take a SWAG that is Hokaido, northern island of Japan, but others here will be able to tell you more... image

Looks like a medal to me, but sadly it's one I can't identify image

Gorgeous design, whatever it is image

  • Evidently a medal portraying Okayama prefecture which is about 100 miles west of Kobe on the southern coast of the main island of Honshu.

    It's pretty, whatever it is.

    (Certainly not a coin).

As tbirde56 wrote, it's a medal related with Okayama Prefecture.
Chinese characters seen in the center of obverse(?) is read "okayama"
On the right side, it says "symbolic tree- japanese red pine, symbolic flower-peach blossom, symbolic bird-little cuckoo" You can see the images of those on reverse.
The mark on the upper part of reverse is a symbol mark of Okayama prefecture.
  • I will also say this is more like a medal. The design is nice.

Can you post a close up picture of the area in red circle?
