The back appears to very extremely white, and has some dirty spots. is the back really that white, or is it the scan? I asked him. Also, wher it used to say reprint, the paper is removed!

It is peculiar because the bidders don't look like the usual 0 feedback scambusters. What's even more peculiar is that the bidding is over $30,000 and the reserve hasn't been met - LOL

Seller goes from selling $10 relish dishes and woman's pant suit (size 16) to a $1,500,000 Wagner card??? HA!!!

......but auction appears to have legitimate bidders????

  • And gotta love this :

    "Seller's payment instructions
I WILL ACCEPT PAYPAL ONLY, AND IT SHOULD BE RECIEVED IMMEDIATE OF THE END OF THE AUCTION OR IT WILL BE RELISTED AND FEEDBACK WILL BE LEFT AS NON-PAYER"

Immediate payment by paypal for over $30,000 uh huh

Sllers response "the back of the card is more of a withish/beish color i think it looks so white because of the lighting" yeah not casue it is a reprint you wiped in mud???
  • stevekstevek Posts: 28,976 ✭✭✭✭✭
<<< it is a reprint you wiped in mud??? >>>

She'll probably be contacting all the underbidders and print up some more.

  • Looks very suspicious to me....She has only 37 feedbacks, and is not even 100 percent approved at that....Biggest sign that it's fake: the evenly rounded (intentionally?) corners...I'm surprised people are bidding...

I was told that anyone who sells relish dishes is an honest christian
and can be trusted. Bid with confidence.

Did the seller dunk the card in a fish tank to take the first two pictures?

I have a few t206's but i have never seen that much white beyond the brand logo on the back. That seems odd to me.

Thats funny that she requires immediate payment. What drives me nuts is sellers that demand payment fast, yet I have to email them three weeks after paying the same day I won a card to ship it. I would love to put the same disclaimer on from a buyers perspective. If card not recieved two weeks after PayPal payment then claim will be filled with PayPal.

Sorry to rant but its been bugging me for quite a long time now. Ah it feels good to get that off my chest.

    <<< US $40,100.00 (Reserve not met) >>>

Auction ended, reserve not met. Minus the cost of ink and paper this should have been a $40,099.75 profit.
  • Why would a scammer pass up $40,000 ? This just doesnt add up.

Saw this coming. Ever since that Gretzky/McNall Wagner sold for more than $1,000,000, all the T206 Wagners came out of Grandpa's cigar box and Grandma's attic. Every estate sale has a Wagner. You can't go to a flea market without seeing a Honus Wagner (right next to the 52T Mantle that looks like it came out of an inkjet printer yesterday but "everyone" says is genuine). Can't even reach into the kitcher drawer where you keep the matches without fumbling through those damn T206 Wagners and Mantle rookies and Goudey Babe Ruths that Uncle Goober left there.

So you would think, based on what you see on eBay.

That card is as fake as the t*t's on Pamela Lee---

  • Yeah,, just yesterday I was mowing the lawn, and I kept running over all those DeLongs, Old Judges, and T205's. All that cardboard is dulling my blade!

I did ask the seller why he didn't take over $40,000 for an item worth nothing and they responded saying I didn't know what he had there. I fired back a good one and never heard back.

Who the heck would pay 40k based on a blurry picture?

  • Ill informed people are often so blinded by the possibility of striking it rich and making that huge score it must cause a complete lack of common sense. But then again you would think that someone with $40,000 to spend on one card on ebay with a blurry pic is pretty well off already so who really knows???? My best conclusions are a sucker is born every minute and a fool and his money will soon be parted.

i am thinking that "the sucker" that bid that card up to 40k was the same person that listed it, or some person that was not going to go through with the deal and was just messing with the guy.

    Good for you.
  • Yeah but 9 different people bid over $15,000 for that card that you or i glanced at and knew it was fake.

ok so , lol 9 different people are either suckers or all were messing with the guy.

edited to add: one guy that bid into the 30k's has been buying 2004 and 5 cards ...makes me think that these "bidders" were playing around. I could be wrong........
