New addition - 500 L. - Edge Date Pics included

The latest addition to my set arrived today. Put me back a whole 8$ image God I love the darkside! Thanks goes to whoever it was who posted one of these a while ago and turned me on to the design image It's a 1958 by the way.

    You know what was funny? I had never seen one of these in person before and it took me a good 2 or 3 minutes to find the date! Ha, now that made me feel like a serious novice....kinda cool though I've never owned a coin with the date on the edge.

    One of my absolute favorite Italian designs - sometimes you can find these with real beautiful toning. Nice catch!!

    I've usually seen this piece called a "Caravelle".... Is that a reference to the obverse, the reverse, or something else?
