How many coins does a grader see in a month?

On the coin boards there are generally threads and/or comments to the effect of "The graders undergraded a coin several times to get resubmission fees and only after enough resubmissions was the coin then graded correctly." Personally I am very skeptical of any nefarious plot by PCGS and its graders to undergrade a coin until it has been submitted "enough" times. I realize that coins do change grades upon resubmissions but that's because of random chance.
One reason I am skeptical of the plot theory is because I expect that graders see a bunch of coins a month and so it is impossible to keep track of any but truly exceptional coins, eg, an 1804 dollar. So, how many coins do you think an average grader sees in a month? And do you think it is it possible for the graders to keep many individual coins in mind so that they recognize a coin when (and if) it's resubmitted?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Mark,
graders usually grade about 800 to 1000 coins a day. it's pretty hard for them to memorize which coins they seen before. They probably only can recall the ultra exceptional coins, like an 1804 dollar.
Thanks,
David
