Ceylon proof

I bought this crown sized silver coin at a show this spring...it's a 1957 5 rupee proof from Ceylon comemmorating the 2500 yr. anniversary of Buddhism.

I recently purchased one for my off and on collection of third world crowns. One of the few really nice ones available, in my opinion.

Nice designs (obverse and reverse), but I hate the spots of haze (that develop on most proof coins over time).

Very Nice, Mintage of just 1800 as well. Got that on my list as one to get.
