I thought about a set. But just buying up some interesting material, while the prices are low. Some of these "lo-pop" vintage high end '70s OPCs, are worth, "salting-away"! (edit: I HOPE? LOL!)
Would you believe I bought a second Boone Rookie Card in PSA 9, and didn't know it! hahahahahah I thought I was bidding on the same card. This is really funny!
rdb..Can you just post the auction and save us all a step? Just a question as we are all pretty savvy as far as this thing called "the internet" goes. Just a thought and I do not mean to abrasive, but I am pretty sure that after you post your Vendio.com links 99% of us find it on e-bay to see the price.
sorry zef, I was just trying to be helpful by posting a larger scan. Didn't think anyone was interested in the "nuts and bolts" of my purchase.
Sure I'll try to post the auction, for those who want to see selling price, bidding history, seller, other bidders, "view other items", etc.
A follow-up: I bought (earlier in the week!) a nice lot of 1973 OPCs 1/1s and 1/2s. I emailed the seller, and asked him if he would like to sell me more (as I knew he had another 10 or so 1973 OPC PSA 9s 1/1s for sale) to me with a "package deal", as I offered him "a deal" for all of his remaining PSA 9s!
He emailed me explaining he payed $1,600 for a 73 OPC wax box, and needed to sell the balance of his PSA graded material, "way overpriced starting prices on ebay".
Goes to show, just how tough it is to find vintage high end mint material worthy for PSA grading. Most would think "break-up value" qracking a 1973 OPC Wax Baseball Box would be higher than the purchase price! Well, this seller was WRONG!
