******* FSH-----Toned Proof IHC *********LAST CHANCE ON THIS GROUP FOR AWHILE

This coin is graded proof 66 brown by NGC. The mirrors are very smooth and the color is very even. The coin looks exactly like the picture except it is more vibrant as it is very difficult to capture the mirrors and the color. There is an area of planchet roughness on the reverse that has toned a different color. Possibly the toning and roughness is due to an uneven alloy mixture. A superb example of a toned Indian cent. $1495 delivered. 7 day return.

    Very nice looking coin!
I have a couple, but not as vibrant and colorful as that.

    Very nice looking though!

Since only three color designations ("BN", "RB" and "RD") are used for copper coins by the major grading companies, those pieces which are neither "RB" nor "RD" are, by default, automatically called "BN".

One can often find some beautifully colored/toned so-called "BN" copper coinage, such as the example pictured in this thread.

a "brown" designated coin due to the fact that there is no red in the coin or even enough for the red brown designation

    but..............

there is also no brown in the coin eitherimage

and more beautiful and rarer as such then even a full red coin and with less brown than any red brown designated coin and most reds tooimage

    a superlative coin

This 1894 is graded Proof 66 BN by NGC. This is a difficult date to find with toning. It is a POP 5/0 coin. $1495

    Ok,

On that last one, I have to ask....were you the one to send it to ICG?
Why would someone take a PCGS PR64RB and send it to ICG? Expecting PR67RD or something?
I can imagine any plastic value dropping immensely going from PCGS to ICG, especially at the same, or less, grade....

Thats the same question I asked the seller before I bought it.

The correct grade is 64 BN. I bought it because I liked the strong cameo.

all TOP color coins in superb gem grades a truly rare combo

a one of a kind offering

the icg coin stands all by itself with the cameo!!!!!!!!!! and has the look of a much higher grade

the key here folks is the coin and eye appeal

    a truly undervalued sleeper coin

    coho,

I think Anaconda R.C. just sold an 1897 NGC PF65RB for $4,250? Rick called on it when it was on their site for $4,950 and they said it was out to someone at the price I mentioned. That was about a week ago and I don't see it back on their site.

BTW, you have some nice coins posted here!

WOW $4250 The pop for that coin is 47/15/4
My 1897 is a pop 13/1 for 1/3 the price.

Maybe I should reconsider selling some of these. I'll keep the thread active for another week.
