My Turn To Ask For VAM Help: 1922-D Cud
I picked this up out of an Indiana pawn shop junk box during my 4th of July holiday week. It looks familiar but I can't find it in the VAM updates. Did I miss it? Anybody recognize this? Thanks.

That is a fantastic looking CUD. I love it! I do not see one in the updates. Possible new one, maybe? Congrats on the purchase. Since it was in a junk box, I bet you spent very few dollars for it, right?
Richard.
NICE ONE!!
Don't have my TOP-50 Peace Dollar book, but just went through about 50 Peace Dollars this week at the local guys shop and didn't see one with a rim cud like this.
If I only had a dollar for every VAM I have...err...nevermind...I do!!

As for the "arrow" over the cud, you are seeing more die cracks coming out of the cud onto the rim / denticle area. Neat optical illusion in the photo. Definitely there, but it doesn't look so apparent in person.
I pulled out 9 coins at $10 each:
The 1922-D Retained cud L of LIBERTY
1921-D VAM-1B1 AU-58 Super Slider
1921-P VAM-3S Gouge down from olive branch XF/AU
1921-P VAM-3A2. Gouges Tailfeathers and L of Dollar AU
1921-D VAM-3A XF
1921-P VAM-24A Die break U united, XF/AU
1921-P dot over O in OF. Can't find a VAM number for this one either. Probably too small a dot for Leroy to assign a VAM. AU
Don't know why I bought the next two. 1921 VAMs are a sickness of mine. Both are problem coins that should have stayed in Indiana.
1921-D VAM-1U polished AU
1921-P VAM-1A Damaged / cleaned. XF before all the damage.
Cheap coins with cool varieties.

$10.00 is what I am paying now for circulated dollars, too. Sometimes cool stuff, other times nothing.
Nice grad on the 3A as well, especially fopr $10.00.
So, how much do you want for the retained cud?
