You'll find better examples for near the same price in 'junk' boxes at shows and on Ebay occasionally.

Looks like MA (run on top of each other) for Marseille, one of the scarcer mints for that year, not that it makes a difference on condition...

but, hey! the good news is that the cheapest American coin for that year (as priced by PCGS) is a seated liberty dime or half dime in G for 18 bucks per.. so you still got a helluva bargain

He he! The 2 X 2 it was in had the letters "MA" and I didn't understand what they meant!

Actually, the scarce mintmark is K, not MA. Not that it matters

I once found one of the 10c. in a roll of US half dollars - - - only a 1917 though.

What would 10 centime have bought in 1854 vs. $.20 today?
