    Well, offhand i can't tell you much besides that it's a Polish half grosz minted in Riga (Lithuanian coat of arms) dated 1562. I don't know if it's a scarce date or variety. I'll have to get back with you on that. In general, half groszy are not too uncommon, and this one appears XF or so, but not very strongly struck.

    Thanks Jester, the seller I got it from claimed it was unc with a poor strike (I'm doubtful).

    Steve, he was right about the poor strike!! Whether or not it's uncirculated I can't speculate without seeing the coin; there's an outside chance it is, but I wouldn't bet the farm on it!

    MiLord, nice 1509 Half Grosz from Krakow! I think I have one of those too, in uncirculated.
