Set type question..

I'm working on a series of coins from Poland. It's only 10 coins. The problem is I am a little fuzzy on types of sets. Check the picture for the coin in question. I'm collecting all the coins with that obverse. When done, what type of set is it? Pattern? Type? Other? I don't know. Does this qualify for the CNPOTD? (Clueless Newbie Post Of The Day)

    I'd call that a Design Set or Series Set I suppose. Great choice of coins by the way...one of my personal favorites. Here's mine;

    Thanks Cladiator-----I see that some proofs of this series were made. Anybody ever see one or even (gasp) own one? That would have to be a beautiful coin.

    That would be a gorgeous coin in proof.

    I recently got my first one... for free, from a forum member! It was holed. When he asked me if I wanted a holed Polish 10-zlotych, I was sort of ambivalent about it. I forgot all about his offer until it arrived in the mail one day, and I was surprised to see it was one of those! I was tickled. I only use pre-1900 holeys on the Holey Coin Vest, but that coin was king of my keychain for a week or two, until I gave it to a friend.

    I wouldn't mind owning an unholey one one day. (Great word, "unholey", eh?) image

    This design has become "my baby". I want to learn the meaning behind it. Why does she have shamrocks in her hair? who is she? I hope to find a proof oneday and have the money to pay for it. If not, I hope I get to look at it for a while. Anyway--Any more opinions on the type of set. I'm inclined to agree with Cladiator.
  • I think any series that someone wants to collect can be called a set, whether it be topical, monarch, denomination, series etc....

    Do what you like, I have a favorite copper bronze set with no rhime or reason.....image
