Mastronet auction- Billy Martin baseball price!

Is this what a graded Martin ball is getting these days?? It sure makes
me want to submit two that I got in person in '88.

Astonishing. The SMR says that a Billy Martin ball is $400. I'm too lazy to figure out how the grading effects that number. The price is pretty close to the SMR for Pepper Martin, though. You don't suppose . . . .

What I don't understand is why some of the signed baseballs are authenticated by PSA/DNA and some are authenticated AND graded. Is one unobligated to pay for grading after paying for authentication?

Here's one from the auction that ened last night. Didn't quite reach $2000 (even with the 17.5% premium) but still impressive, especially for one that wasn't graded by PSA/DNA. There were two more but even the "9" didn't reach this price.

    Martin ball from 10/20

I had one authenticated by GAI that I had gotten from a collection a while back. I got $399 on BIN for mine, which seemed to be the going price for authenticated ones. Mine wasn't really worth "Grading" though...
