My first complete PSA set: 1934 World Wide Gum

1934 World Wide Gum set

I've put pics up on every card. Although most of the cards came from the Mile High auction, I upgraded a few of them, and I had most of them graded (about 80% of the cards in the auction came ungraded). I'm happy to note all of the cards graded, none were trimmed or any other funny business.

Interesting that half the set looks like '33's and the second half like '34's- wonder what time of year they were actually issued?
Congrats on completion of a very nice set, what next?

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

    Congrats on reaching 100%

As far as we know you might be the only person with a complete PSA graded set.

    WOW....What a fine set!!!

It appears that most of the PSA 7s would have graded better but not for centering.

    GREAT JOB!!!

    Nice job indeed!!
    Good for you.
  • Next up: trying to complete the 33 & 34 Goudey, and the 33 WWG sets.

I don't know why the 34 WWG set is half and half. It makes it interesting, especially with the yellow Babe Ruth in the set. In one of the catalog books, I read that they changed it mid-stream because they were getting complaints of being lazy...but I don't know if that was true or not. It sounds kinda made up.

As for the PSA 7s, they look great...and even better in the scans. But I do believe they are 7s, not an 8 in a 7 holder. The 8s are incredibly tough, and look more like 9s than 8s. Check out the Cochrane in my 33 WWG set and you'll see how crisp it is, yet its an 8.

  • Great job and nice set. I especially like the crisp, bright colors of most of your cards. Thanks for sharing.

Great set. I always appreciate it when the pictures are posted for viewing. Agree with you on the Ruth and Gehrig pix.

Always looking for 1957 Topps BB in PSA 9!
  • Truly awesome. I too am surprised by the lack of interest in this set, definitely scarcer than Topps. Then again, when did logic ever rule this hobby?
