How/When Does A Set Become Retired?

I've never asked and I've wondered....how or when does a set become retired? Do you have to complete the set at 100% before qualifying?

You should retire a set from Current status when you have sold the set or you have no plans to upgrade the set. To retire a set, simply delete the entire set. (Note that if you delete items from your set one by one, it will also reduce your ATF set completion.) If your set was at least 90% complete at the time of deletion, it will remain in the All Time Finest category and will be listed with a "viewable" status. If you still own the items in a retired set that was 90% complete at the time of retirement and the set remains in the All Time Finest category, those same certification numbers should not be re-used by you in a new set you may start in the same category. Should you wish to re-use those items, please contact customer service first to delete the All Time Finest set from the registry.

    hope that helped
    Good for you.

90% is the important number..............Your set will always be listed on the all-time set list after it reaches 90%.....if you retire a set before it reaches 90% it gets deleted from both the current and the all-time list.

Supposidly if there is no action on a set for a year's time then your set will be deleted from the PSA registry by PSA. I do not know how closely PSA monitors this though.
