This one actually made me drool

CladiatorCladiator Posts: 18,073 ✭✭✭✭✭
While perusing the bay at work today i stumbled across a coin I didn't even know existed. It blew my socks off!!! What a stunning piece of metal!!! Anyone here own one of these? All I can do is post the link to the auction because I'm at work and I'm not able to load photos here. Would someone mind putting the pic of the coin in this thread? Thanks.

There's a silver 5 corona with a similar theme that's much more affordable, though not quite as pretty.

newsman - I just went and looked up the 5 corona one you're talking about and you're right...it is a sweet looking coin (but not up to par with the gold coin) image

You know what guys, I am seriously contemplating making a stab at this golden beauty. I have no krause book, could someone clue me in on it's values. I didn't find any that have sold on the bay for prices realized. Is it even worth my time thinking about it at that starting price?

I have been wanting that one for awhile, but oh well, the mortgage comes first strangely enough! I cribbed this from steinbergs.com:

    << <i>AUSTRIA 1908 100 Corona PROOF Franz Josef “Lady in the Clouds” FR. 514 (KM2812) >>

<< <i>Issued on his 60th year of reign! Scarce one year type! NGC PF62--$2,450.00 PCGS PR62-------$2,450.00 >>

scroll down the page : steinbergs.com

Also, this old ebay auction...also from steinbergs, and the picture is gone...ebay linkage

ClarkSmith had a couple a few months back. I don't remember the prices and they are off the website.

Please buy the coin and regale us with pictures!!

A gorgeous coin !! I've longed for a Lady in the Clouds for years now. As for the price - a bit much for the grade. But they don't come cheap. I knew where there was a MS64 for $2500 - just checked it's gone image
