1982 OPC #361 Pete Rose PSA 10, suggestions ?

I have one of the two copies of this card. It is an absolute beauty. The other resides in the #1 Pete Rose Master set (which is a massive set, by the way).

My question is what should I do with it ?? Im hesitant to eBay it because I realize that OPC cards, especially 'modern' OPC cards, dont generate the kind of demand that Topps would. That would cause this 'fairly' rare card to sell fairly cheap.

Because I dont see the population of '82 OPC commons going anywhere for a long time, the only market I think it has is with Pete Rose Master set collectors. Should I just email each of them asking for an offer ? I wouldnt know where to begin making a fair asking price. Do any of the Rose Master set collectors frequent this board ?

Any help or suggestions ...

Ian (rugbymarine)

EDIT: I hate spelling...

Well, there appears to be only a small handful of Pete Rose Master collectors who might be interested in this card.

I see no harm in emailing these folks. I might just stick with collectors with high weighted GPA.

The selling of this card will probably not finance your retirement.

    rbd,

The question is would you have been annoyed if this gentleman had emailed you about this card?

I for one would not be annoyed if anyone e-mailed me or PM me (that sounds weird) on a card(s) for sale that they know I am collecting. Always like to keep up on what is for sale out there.

I think if people have their e-mail available on the registry it is entirely acceptable to e-mail them about a card they may want.

    I have welcomed unsolicated emails.

Because I listed my email address at the Set Registry, I was able to buy and trade for many scarce cards to my 1976 Topps Baseball Set from email offers I received. I had an individual sell me a nice lot of PSA 9s, if I would in return, sell him back the same cards in PSA 8. That worked out well for both parties. I bought a 1976 Topps Detroit team set in PSA 9 & 10, from someone who emailed me. Some of those cards would otherwise, be quite difficult to find.

So, YES email, email, and email some more! image
