Baseball strategy, managerial brain cramps

It still amazes me how people in charge of MLB have no clue sometimes. They, like common fans fail to look at evidence, and fail to look at the numbers correctly. Case in point(among the many that always happen..see Adrian Beltre!).
Neifi Perez. This is a man that is an absolute terrible hitter. His on base percentage over his last 1,000 plus at bats tells you that he is atrocious in that area(in every area actually). Yet, because the man gets on a little hot streak they somehow think that he will continue to hit like that. All I heard while he was hitting good was how the Cubs won't miss Nomar because they have NEIFI! Neifie Perez for Pete's sake!!! They fell in love with that .350something average in May, and said Nomar Who? They broke cardinal rule number one in evaluating a player....SAMPLE SIZE!! So they stake him as their leadoff hitter and wonder why they don't score runs. Are these people stupid?
Managers constantly bat guys leadoff who should be batting 7th or 8th.
People, there is a reason why batting titles are not awarded in May. I just love taking money from people who do not understand this.
Managers, if a guy has a hot streak, don't expect him to play at that ability for long. If you want to see how he will do in the future games, just check his last 1,000+ at bats and that will give you a better idea. Obviously young hitters taking the next step are a different case, but there are usually some signs that show it was a next step and not just a fluke ALA Beltre. Beltre's signing still amazes me how stupid GM's can be. Yeah, lets ignore his established level of ability, and sign him based on a fluke year. Go through the lists in MLB history and find all those one year blips on the radar and then see how they come back to reality.
NEIFI PEREZ! Who needs Nomar!!??!!???
Some managers do not recognize the importance of On Base percentage, no, not just for leadoff hitters, but for all hitters. I have been tossing a few numbers around to show the importance of it even for 3rd or 4th hitters. This stuff has already been proven, but a lot of people are still misguided on its importance. I have a chain of events and breakdown on how it is also very important to show that a third place hitter is doing his team a service by taking walks. Lots of people think he hurts his team because his job is to drive in runs. That isn't correct, and I will be showing an example why. That is for another day though.
