Something wrong with this PSA 33 Goudey?

Though DBH would disagree.....does this card look trimmed to anyone else? I mean, where are the borders?
Also, the typing in the PSA holder...numbers and letters are faded....strange or the scan?

The only thing I can see wrong is seeing that it is so off center it doesn't have any Nomar bids on it yet. That gets me wondering?

    jero?????
  • there is nothing wrong with this card other than being OC. the borders are there, what are you talking about? the seller collects high grade '33 goudeys.
  • Card and seller are fine, scan makes letters in flip appear faded, card is not trimmed but definately is OC.

If you assume that all the borders should be the same width, you might conclude that it was trimmed on the right. Especially since that upper right corner looks so extraordinarily sharp. But I don't think that's necessarily true with '33 Goudeys, where the borders are all over the place. If it were true, I don't think PSA would miss such an obvious clue. This ain't no stack of a hundred 1989 Curt Schillings. I have to think they have the 'A' squad grading pre-war material, and they really bear down.

Oops, did I steal DBH's lines? image

I wasnt commenting on the centering...I'll clear what I meant up...
Just looks like there isnt enough border all the way around the card.

The card is exactly as graded. Scans tend to "fill things in" on pictures of cards - that is why creases, scuffing, and other flaws don't show up on scans - unless the flaws are really bad. Slim, almost miscut borders such as that right border are the same way - it gets "filled in" on the scan - that border I would be certain looks much better on the card than the scan shows.

And if you make the scan bigger the printing on the flip looks fine.Just a small scanning error.

    thanks everyone
  • I agree with the majority. very OC, but probably not trimmed. The card may be a 7, but this thing looks like a freaking turd.
