Krause help please!

My Krause is an old but good one from 1993. Unfortunately that's too old to have what I'm looking for so I ask your help.

Can someone please lookup Azerbaijan and list out (or scan) the KM #s, denoms and metal types for non-NCLT coins? There are less than 10, I believe.

I have four aluminum coins from here, but I'm pretty sure there were some other metal types used.

What I have, all aluminum: 5 qapik, 1993;; 10 qapik, 1992;; 20 qapik, 1993;; 50 qapik, 1993. What types am I missing?

KM#31 1992 brass (5 qapic) The aluminum one is KM#31a

    1992 & 1993 KM#33 brass (20 qapic) KM#33a for the aluminum.

    1992 &1994 KM#34 copper-nickel (50 qapic) There is another aluminum one from 1992, KM#34a.

I don't know what non-NCLT means, sorry. Did you want the 50 and 100 manat KM #'s too?

    Kuhli + Becky -

What edition of Krause did you get the KM #'s? I used 2005 32nd.

Just wondering why your #'s are 30's and mine are 1 thru 6.

  • Gene,

So, Krause has gone back to the single digit numbering in 2005?

According to my 1996 edition, the numbers are 1,1a,2,3,3a,4,4a (and the only non-existant piece is the 1992 aluminum 20 qapik).

According to my 2002 edition, the numbers are 31,31a,32,33,33a,34,34a (and there are 3 non-existant pieces: the 1992 aluminum 20 qapik, the 1993 brass 20 qapik, and the 1994 CUNI 50 qapik)

Thanks for the pics kuhli image

Kinda funny about Krause.. though I half expected them to neglect an obscure place like this. image

Oh, almost forgot to ask.. how much does Krause list the non-aluminum ones for? and does the list price seem realistic?

I've seen a few on ebay but with wildly differing prices.

Anyway, there are rumors that the Azeris are going to revalue the manat (as the Turks did the lira recently) and there might be coin issues again. Lets hope this time, if it happens, they're of slightly better quality image
  • According to my 2002 Krause, the 1992 5 qapik brass XF=$2, UNC=$4; the 1992 20 qapik brass XF=$1, UNC=$2; the 1992 50 qapik CUNI XF=$1.50, UNC=$3.50. If I remember correctly, I paid $7 for the set of 3 off eBay, about a year ago.
