Will it be 1978 all over again?

Nah...the Yankees were 14 games out of 1st place at the All Star break during the year of the "Bucky".

1978's team wasn't a bunch of overpaid malcontents (kevin brown, gary 'renegotiate my contract, foo!' sheffield, etc. etc) like 2005's is.

I guess you weren't around in 1978. They wrote a book about the players on that team called the Bronx Zoo

The Yank's payroll is $208,306,817 and currently sitting at 39-39

    Now that's funny

Yeah, it is hilarious. Steinbrenner is trying to look for someone to blame the Yankee's mediocre (so far) season on. It is quite obvious it's Wright (I was pi ssed off when they signed him with his history of injuries rather than re-sign Lieber), Pavano, and Randy's fault.

I see you didn't post the box score of the Yankees 10-2 drubbing of the $45 million dollar "Big Useless" and your Yanks last night. But, you try to divert attention by mentioning a Sox loss.

This will clearly not be 1978 - the guys on your team this time around do not know how to win. And, though I'm sure the Yanks will try and buy up a few more pegs before the season is through, it is hopeless for you. Don't worry, football season - and another miserable Giants campaign is just a few months away!

Wow you sure jumped to the white sox bandwagon quick!

I thought you were a mets fan? Who will your team of choice be next week spam boy?

A true blue Yankee fan forever. Noticed I used the M word might.

    might
    .
    1. Used to indicate a condition or state contrary to fact: She might help if she knew the truth.
    2. Used to indicate a possibility or probability that is weaker than may: We might discover a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
    3. Used to express possibility or probability or permission in the past: She told him yesterday he might not go on the trip.
    4. Used to express a higher degree of deference or politeness than may, ought, or should: Might I express my opinion?

Well that's what you keep saying. Your post history would prove otherwise.

The only fault with this team is queen george sticking his nose in and trying to make personnel decisions instead of letting those he hired to do the job.

It's clearly apparent georgie poo doesn't know anything about how to assemble a team. He thinks you can just buy the best players at every position and win.

Sorry queen G, it doesn't work that way (and hasn't for 5 years now?)
