Hey, this used to be Bustman's coin! Another ebay hijacked account?

Did they buy the coin from him?

Two sets of images, one from a camera, and one from a scanner. Maybe used his images and their own?

    PM Bustman I guess.

I don't see any problems with using the previous owner's pictures...

    HT,

So you think the seller, whose last sale was a blouse, really owns the coin, do ya?

Sorry I didn't check back through his(or probably her) recent sales. However he does have a seperate scan, and I wouldn't be all that suprised if it was legimate due to previous experinces with sellers.
Of course we are all running around with a blindfold on,it could be scam however I think we should wait till Bustman lets you know before YOU get excited.

Don't miss-understand me,if you purchased the coin and later on you go to re-sell it it's perfectly alright to use the previous seller's pictures just as long as the coin has not changed. When I've asked a seller if this was all right with him,he didn't have any objections and I would have any as well if it was my customer.

In this case I agree with Hayden, as long as you obtain permission from the person the pics belong to.

I have, once or twice, asked permission to use existing images of a coin when I purchased the piece, especially if they are high quality pics!

Most people take it as a compliment to their photography skills!

If the coin is certified/sealed in a slab, then there's not much chance the coin will have changed materially.

The seller is not the person I sold the coin to. They are not only using my pics without my permission, but they are using my exact description as well. I just asked the seller if they have any other pics, and where the coin was acquired from. Lets see how it goes, but I think we are looking at a major scam artist.

A legitimate seller might use the photos but would probably be creative enough to use his/her own description.

Does anyone have a link to report fraud on eBay?
  • BustmanBustman Posts: 1,911
Thanks, Mark. It has been reported.

Pretty neat trick adding a form to the html that bypasses the eBay eMail system. My, these slimeballs sure are getting creative.

Ebay answered my email. They wanted a link to my previous auction. Shouldn't be long before this one gets yanked! Good work RYK!!

c'on guys....can we let it go?

Hayden......writing to RYK "I think we should wait till Bustman lets you know before YOU get excited." is not helping.

RYK & TWQG, I think we all understood Hayden presuming that the seller owned the coin, and could have said "I think we should wait till Bustman lets you know before we all get excited."
Besides he did clarify himself numerous times...."....if you purchased the coin and later on you go to re-sell it it's perfectly alright to use the previous seller's pictures just as long as the coin has not changed."

Even Darin (BigD5) said, " Two sets of images, one from a camera, and one from a scanner. Maybe used his images and their own?".....presuming that the seller owned the coin.

Look at some of the for sale threads, I know there is at least one that appears to have images not taken by the seller.
Should we all jump to judgement & call him a thief? Nobody has so far.....
