Scanner Help

Ok, I am pretty envious of all the wonderful scans many of you put up on these boards. I can't copy it with my scanner and am thinking it is due to the fact my scanner is older than dirt (circa 98 or 99 scanner). What should I look for in a new scanner and what are the costs? Also, are there any setting tricks you use to get the fabulous scans? Thanks all!

Good scanners cost less than $100 my man. Dell computers has specials where you buy 1 printer/scanner and get 2nd for free. I purchased a sweet color printer/scanner and got 2nd for free, I simply got a friend to go in w/ me.

Dadding up scans may require something like Photoshop elements or some digital imaging software.

    Hope this helps?!

Also if you plan on scanning PSA cards you want one that has a CCD scanning element(charge coupled device). They do a better job at scanning something that has depth which is why some PSA holder scans looks blurry.

    Hi Mefer,

I to use a scanner that is 5-6 years old. Its a Espon 600 (I think). What I found that improved my scanning was a simple, I mean simple editing program. Its called Irfanview and you can download it for free at http://www.irfanview.com/. The program to use is the first one listed.

Try it, definitely improve your imagines

Good Luck on those 71's ending tomorrow image

You can click on my auctions below and in my auctions are pictures produced with my 6 year old scanner and Irfanview.

Have a safe and not so sane 4th!
