I think the shield on that coin is on the reverse.

What do I think? Three things:

Those pattern dollars with shield earrings would qualify.

I cannot find the shield on the obverse of the capped bust dime.

They will not be seeing a submission from me.

Seated Liberty Dollar, but not the other seated liberty coins? Weird.

Huh... I held back one economy submission to see what the new quarterly free submission would be, and now I don't think I have a coin worth submitting that qualifies.

It does not say any coin with a shield on the obverse. It says they have picked several coin types with a shield on the obverse. The dime still doesn't make sense, but they listed it.

    Quarterly Collectors Club Submission Special

For this quarter's special, we've picked several coin types with a shield on the obverse. Throughout American history, the shield represented the protection and defense of Liberty. During the Civil War, the shield reinforced the desired ideal of the restoration of the union between the Northern and Southern States. During World War I, the shield conveyed security and freedom from fear. Although gone from today's circulating coin types, the shield is fondly remembered thanks to these obsolete designs.

We will accept under this special:
    Two Cent Piece
    Shield Nickel
    Standing Liberty Quarter Dollar
    Seated Liberty Silver Dollar
    Capped Bust Dime
Give Blood (Red Bags) & Platelets (Yellow Bags)!
