where is the increased value?

I have,what i think is a large amount of proof and mint coins which I accumulated from about 1970 to 1995. An article recently said that the value of coins are jumping. I also have gold and commemratives. I don't see much of a change in value. Who is blowing all the smoke?

Some coins have increased significantly in value, while others have done nothing. The "market" is comprised of numerous/various segments which typically act independently.
