Rick Kay's breaking my heart!

I was just browsing Rick's inventory (great coins if you've never looked - Courtesy link! )
He has plenty of 1871 pattern coins, including some nice nickels in my price range. ($2,400 is a lot for me, but I could probably talk fast enough with my wife to swing it.) Of course, his only 1872 is a J1212 Commercial Dollar which is out of my reach. (Don't get me wrong; I'd love to have it; I just don't want to lose my wife over a pattern dollar!!
)
My question is: Is there some conspiracy to keep affordable 1872's off of the market and to ensure that there is a bountiful supply of other dates?? Rick!! Hook me up, buddy!! Find me that diamond in the rough 1872!!!

I have a few 1872 dated patterns, Cal frractionals and business strike coins, all of which are finest or next to finest for their issue.
Keep in mind that in my case, I am saving them for you when you can someday afford to buy them off from me.
Just think of me as your future source of 1872 stuff.
I think you have got it figured out!!
Oreville,
When I hit the lottery I'll call you!
(It's a shame I busted out of the World Poker Tour Championship on the 2nd day. 1st place paid out $2.85 million. That would have added nicely to my set!!)

Hang in there. This is your future collection. You can keep these pictures for free in the meantime. Enjoy. By the way, the $1 gold token is from the Jay Roe collection.
