Post some photos and tell us what camera gear you're using.

I use a Canon Digital Rebel SLR with a Canon 100mm f2.8 macro lense.
I don't use a copy stand but I do use a very sturdy tripod.
If you saw what I use for lighting, you would laugh your a$$ off.

My setup, if you can even call it that:
The camera lays on top of the Rubix cube, so it can be kept steady. Yea, real fancy set-up.

I use the same camera and lens, but I also use a Testrite copy stand. For lighting I usually use one Reveal bulb, but sometimes use OTT lights or Sylvania Daylight Pluss bulbs.
I use a Nikon CoolPix 4300, 4 MB, Macro, two reveal and one Ott type light...
The 4300 is a great little Camera ( fits in your shirt pocket ) only down side is it has a slight delays in focusing and next photo...
Not a big deal with coins but I use it fly fishing and it can be a pain but Ive learned to work around it...

Sony Mavica. With the flash. And I was wearing a headlamp. And it was a half moon.
Taken while I was out on a detecting expedition to the boonies, in the middle of the night.
Hey, it gets purty dark out there.

That is such an over-all pristine example in my opinion with the technical quality and the toning.

He was very photogenic and did not mind the light, it was the 3 miles of extension cords that was a bear...
