1975 BB Set - Opinions

I have been looking over on Ebay at the 1975s BB for sale and have started thinking of doing this set. I have more of an emotional attachement for this set. Even though I am currently doing 67s, I was only born a year earlier (opps gave my age away). I collect 67s because it is one of my favorites, if not my favorite, designed Topps set. But looking at the 75s really takes me back to my childhood and buying tons of packs. I think I might enjoy collecting this set a little more and it would be cheaper to do. Just wanted some opinions on this set and also wondered if you collect a set for what specific reason.

Thanks for the help.

I too like both the '67 and '75 Topps sets. I haven't made as much headway with the '75 set. They are plentiful and pretty easy to find in PSA 8 & 9. The prices have been steadily declining over the past couple of years as more graded material has become available. It is a more reasonably priced set to build but there are quite a few people building this set. Low pops can go for quite a bit in the higher grades. On second thought, I don't need anymore competition. Don't waste your time building this worthless set. image

In 8's the set is very cheap to put together. I have the set raw NM-NM/MT and found that I could get many of the commons in 8's for cheaper than the grading fees. I put it on hold after a few weeks but intend on going back to it. IMO I think it is an awesome from an investment purpose as I really think the cards have bottomed out. I know that investment should not be a reason to collect a set, but if a set you want to collect is a good investment, well its kind of a bonus image

Stingray, I am collecting the 1978 set graded. They were the first cards I collected in mass as a 9 year old kid. It is my all time
favorite set and always will be.

Thanks for your input. It would be cheaper to do this set, plus I can actually have cards that I can have some type of memory of actually owning at one time. I think I will purchase a couple to see how I feel before deciding. If so I will be selling some 67s then.
