Thats crazy. I dont get it either?? I can see that price if you collect Arod and its a BGS 9.5 or a PSA 10, but an 8?

I just checked smr and a psa 10 is listed at $175.00. Pretty surprising for such a low quality card.

this is the "white letter" version.. beckett doesnt list a price, but does recognize it as a legit variation.. i never knew it existed..

  • Hey guys,

My auction you're talking about. I actually noticed the variation when bidding on the normal "gray name" variety on eBay. I emailed BGS (only because PSA usually doesn't recognize newer variations) about the variation and sent it in. They recognized it as a legit variation and slabbed it as so. This one was the first one graded (about two months ago). Hard to say how rare it is, but I honestly expected a higher price. Then again, I'm not complaining.
  • btw, has anyone else seen this variation? Better yet, does anyone else have one of these cards?

I think it'll be up to the market to determine this cards price. My opinion is the price is off one way or the other. If it becomes an accepted variation, I can see this becoming a $800 + card, if it is looked at as a misprint or production error, it very well could be the $200 price or less. I guess if you want to take a chance on something modern going up a lot, this could be worth it
IT IS ALWAYS CHEAPER TO NOT SELL ON EBAY

This thread got me thinking last night and I remembered seeing this card in one of my boxes. I beleive this is the white version. Am I correct?

sorry Matt, but nope.. i think the one to look for is the "Silver Signature" version.. thats the one that should have a gray name.. i think all of the "base" versions have white letters..

  • If anyone does find another one of these, let me know! I'd be willing to pay nice $$$ for one... seller's remorse image
  • Oh, and if you are the one person with this card with the normal "gray name" silver signature in PSA 10, I'd be happy to pay you 5x SMR for it.
  • Boy, that card looks like a PSA 9 to me.
