That is obviously NOT Wayte Raymond album toning, which would be more concentric. It is either bag toning or AT, or perhaps toning from some other storage method. Bag toning, however, is quite rare on some of the dates he is offering ... so I doubt it is bag toning either.
Coin is photographed inside imperfect protective holder which may show flaw-like specs-lines-particles-dust-smudge- and or other defects appearing on your monitor BUT that are NOT on THIS actual coin.
Why would they not take a $300 coin out of the 2x2?
Looks like the coin is in a TPG holder but the seller never gives a grade. Why not??? After all a 79O true deep mirror proof like is a tough coin in MS64 or better, and it doesn't matter if it's a toner or not. That's NOT a Wayte Raymond type of toning so there seems to be a bit of misinformation, piled on top of missing information. That is a lot of money for 2 people to bid- sight unseen w/o a grade, pretty risky for a possible AU-58/MS60 Morgan IMHO.
Not even close to Wayte Raymond toning -- which makes me think the seller does not even know what Wayte Raymond toning looks like.
I suspect it is AT, but it is impossible to tell from the image, because the colors look like they have been tweaked, so I have no idea what they look like in real life.
I saw that auction, and didn't even think about bidding- his pictures are tweaked so bad, that you really can't tell if it's AT or not- but I suspect it might be....
My style is impetuous, my defense is impregnable !
FYI,I won an auction on an NGC graded coin, and seller said there was a medical emergency in the family, and could not locate the coin.Offered coin with no picture instead.Of course i passed.
Great coins are not cheap, and cheap coins are not great!

Most of the Wayte Raymond album toned coins that I have seen are target toned with lighter or brilliant centers. The obverse tends to have more toning than the reverse. Again most of these coins will have mostly brilliant reverses with a small ring of vibrant color hugging the rim of the coin, but not every case. The majority of Wayte Raymond coins that I've seen have very vivid blues, purples and reds yet will cover the whole spectrum.
Wayte Raymond toning is some of the best album toning I could ever imagine finding. The coins do look like they've sat in an album for many years. The Morgan dollars pictured look more like mint sewn bag toned.

Of course, I might just be saying that because I want to buy the coins...

I like this half-dime closed half dime
It looks like an expoerienced scammer - taking XF coins and adding color
I could be wrong - if anyone buys from them, let me know what you get
