Some pics for the VAM experts

I believe this Morgan is at least interesting..
An 1878 7tf Rev.78. Obverse Type II, Reverse B1 ("A" touches wing, long center arrow shaft)
The "U' is the second "U" in UNUM. The star is the first one to the right of the date. Other doubling on some stars and noticable in LIBERTY
The reverse didn't focus very well even after I put on my glasses. I do not see any extra tail feathers. It is different than the VAM 44 and 45.
Anyone care to offer an opinion or want more info? Sorry, can't do a lower mag crisp pic. Came in an NGC MS63 holder. Nothing special indicated.
This VAM and RPM stuff is new to me. I'm liking it!

I have to give up where this came from to provide a better full pic. I couldn't help spending for this based on the pics. Even when I know they can be deceiving.1878
I don't know how to link pics correctly. Maybe someone will do this for the others.
As you can see, the double legs were quite obvious, and actually quite real. Not just a photo doubling effect.
I would be glad to do the higher mag pics if it would help.

Try this again.
Check Heritage auction #25063, item#11421. The doubling is there in most areas and as some photos show, doubling where it isn't.
Thanks for your patience.

However, it may be common VAM-31.

That leaves VAMs 70, 79-84A according to the revised March 2005 7tf Attribution Guide by Leroy Van Allen.
Check these attributions and see if any look similar.
X VAM-70 - Has Thin LIBERTY, doubled letters. Also disconnected leaves on the olive cluster to the eagles right on the reverse. This would be the last three leaves the end cluster from the stem. Yours looks intact.
X VAM-79 - Has Missing nostril - Yours appears to be intact.
X VAM-80 - Has doubled wheat leaves and grains. Also disconnected leaves on the olive cluster to the eagles right on the reverse. This would be the last three leaves the end cluster from the stem. Yours looks intact.
X VAM-81 - Has doubled P. Also disconnected leaves on the olive cluster to the eagles right on the reverse. This would be the last three leaves the end cluster from the stem. Yours looks intact.
VAM-82 - Doubled date and stars. Doubled LIBERTY shifted up. Doubled E, P, R, B, S, U, and N in mottos. Doubled 1,2,3 and 5 stars on right with first one very strong; doubled 1,2,4, and 5 on left. Doubled 1 on right side, both 8's doubled over center of top loop.
VAM-83 - Has High 1. Doubled LIBERTY shifted left; all letters in E PLURIBUS UNIUM doubled. Doubled 1,2,5, and 6 stars on left and 1,2,3, and 4 stars on right. 1 in date doubled on right side and set high. First 8 doubled at top right outside and left outside of upper loop and bottom inside of lower loop. 7 doubled slightly on left side of left tip serif and right side on left lower serif.
Reverse has no apparent defects except for slight overpolishing in middle of eagle's wing.
X VAM-84 Has washed out "L" in LIBERTY and missing nostril. Your nostrill appears intact. I just looked at one of my VAM-84s and didn't see the doubled legs on the reverse like yours. Also has lots of other things going on in the attribution but too legnthy to type right now.
Vam-84A Has "E" and "M" on reverse and "n" on obverse
Check and see if you have two very thin lines at the bottom of "D" in DOLLAR to make sure.
VAM-82 is my guess at this point. But that doubled leg has me puzzled.
If I only had a dollar for every VAM I have...err...nevermind...I do!!

These pics will probably comfirm VAM 31. Pretty nice example of multiple effects of doubling and on both the OBV and REV!
Some of the doubling is very strong. Even if it is a common, it has very nice effect for the price. I added a pic of the doubling of the olive branch.
Thanks,

The VAM 31 was sounding right. This is a B1 REV.
My computer is being a real pain. Keeps acting like the mouse is bad. This is my third one.
