If the Yankees stay mediocre despite having a payroll so high that it's embarrassing, would he sell this team? Or, would he spend his "golden years" going "down with the ship"?

No because he makes him gobs and gobs of money...even when the fair-weathered fans in NY stop going to the games, the contracts he has with tv and radio makes queen george very very wealthy. Also helps that every single thing on the radio broadcast is sponsored...listening to a radio broadcast of a yankees game is like listening to a 3 hour commercial with some baseball sprinkled in.

No way. He is older than dirt and waiting to die. He has sold the minor league system down the drain because he doesn't care what happens after he meets Billy Martin on a cloud and fires him to hell.

George ain't ever selling. But he will keep spending more money. A 300 million dollar payroll - possible.
