The Pitcher and the Priest

Neat story in our local paper this morning.
Never knew that Herb Score lives down the road from me.

    Very interesting Keith
Thanx for posting. It kind of reminds me of the Tony Conigliaro story I posted a while back. Altho he doesn't attribute his derailment to the ball hitting his head - team members may see it differently.

To be honest, I didn't know about this incident.
    thanx again

  • Reading about Herb Score back in 1990 is what got me into collecting vintage cards. I got lots of odd looks from dealers when I was 17-years-old asking for a 1956 Topps Herb Score rookie card.

No kiddin'. My dad telling me about Score and his injury was kinda what got me into vintage cards as well. His rookie was one of, if not the first old card I ever bought. That was probably '86 or '87 when I was about 13.
