This coin has taught me that I don't like spot on copper. I just get distracted by them. It's very nice otherwise and has great luster.

Excellent photograph, as always. So-so coin (because of the carbon spots). I agree with your assessment and am never especially drawn to the more common dates.

65BN. Very pretty in hand, spots only become obvious with magnification.

Too bad about the spots, but the red peekin' on the reverse is sweet.

The spots are distracting, sure, but not enough to kill that one, IMO. Nice piece.

I believe the owner called it right.

I hate spots on copper or nickle, and this coin is a good example why.

I also believe the spots are corrosive in nature, and will grow like acne on a young teenager.

Nice preserved uncleaned coin coin even with some small spots...This happens on these coppers through the years just imagine where they have been. They also didn't come from the Mint in some cutesy little packaging and went directly to work over a hundred years ago...

While the spots are somewhat distracting, this is a coin I would have loved to own early in my collecting career. A person's view of coins changes over time as his financial circumstances, his priorities, and the market itself changes.
