I'm not buying right now (saving and selling for an early dollar)....but if I were I'd probably take a chance on this coin.
Would you buy this coin for $95.00? Why or why not?

I think the price is a tiny bit high, by a few bucks, anyway.

Otherwise I think it is an attractive coin, and I agree with the seller that it might be undergraded. (From what I can see in those pics).

    My overall impression is positive.

  • It's kind of pricey based upon what has sold this year on Heritage. A PCGS 62 could be had for less than $90 (including buyer's premium). It's a nice-looking coin though.

Nope! I wouldn't buy it! Not for that money.....not for that holder.........
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    The name is LEE!
  • Looks WAY undergraded to me. I can only see a few tiny ticks on the obverse.

If I only had a dollar for every VAM I have...err...nevermind...I do!! image

image Looks like a nice Peace $1 for under $100. I agree it looks undergraded but picture kind of "In The Distance".
  • Maybe a little premium for it. But it's a 61..... Don't expect to open up the package and think you're going to be looking at a 64 like in the photo.... obviously optimal lighting...

Even if you get it in hand and it's not a 63-64 like you hope the seller has a 7 day no questions asked return policy. Might be worth the chance.

Such was my logic when I bought it. It was nice in hand, a 62 on another day, but not the zonker I was taking a chance on. I sent it back. The seller, Bob Niego of Eagle Coin Gallery, was a nice guy -- prompt, friendly, and good to his word. Recommended, should he come up with something you want at a price you like.

The eagle looks pretty flat and some of Liberty's hair does too. I think NGC graded it properly. So the return policy doesn't mean much to me on a fairly graded slab. I wouldn't waste time & $$ returning a properly graded slab.
Now maybe if you had a can of strike enhancer you could magically turn it into a MS63, reslab it, resale it and put $5 profit in your pocket after fees. image
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

The point here wasn't to score a big rip, just to find an attractive 1927 Peace $1 that I liked, at a fair price. This one wasn't miles off, but it wasn't the one. In any event, my point in posting is just that the seller was a decent & easy guy to deal with, and knowing who they are on ebay is worth something.
