Presidential Review is in.... downgrade

I think some may have thought I was a bit crazy to request a coin in a MS66 holder be downgraded, but if you are like me I am not trying to buy low grade coins in high grade holders just to move up the ranks in my registry set. Granted.... I do enjoy the registry concept, but when I can't show my coins then I feel I am hiding something.
The registered mail came in a little while ago and at first when I handled the package I thought there was another PCGS holder in it which would mean that the review just downgraded the coin a level or two(or three maybe). After opening it though there was a *bodybagged* coin and a very generous check to compensate me. I really didn't expect the coin back if it was found to be unholderable.
Although I know many of you do not like your Presidential Review results, I am extremely pleased that PCGS does take the grade guarantee seriously. It was completely my fault for buying the coin in the first place as I had enough information available to make an intelligent decision... of which I didn't. My thanks to PCGS for bailing me out. Granted.... PCGS made an error themselves, but they also lived up to what they said they would do in the case of grade guarantees. Hopefully David makes it over here to see this thread.
Here's the coin in question.... reverse of a 1947 Walker. The rim damage is actually very shiny. The picture is just not very good.

i really thought it would come back in a slab with a lower grade.

No surprise there. PCGS is very serious about standing behind their guarantee. Now, if they could just remember what a cameo SMS Kennedy looks like...
