Well, it is a good attempt. It looks more like an inventory picture than one that one might use to sell a coin or show the quality of a coin. Have you tried one coin at a time? You can get closer that way. If you don't want to invest in a camera that has macro capabilities, you might invest in a scanner. Although images from the scanner appear "flat" due to the way the coin is lit, they are, by far, better than what you have posted here. I recommend a Nikon Coolpix 2100 as a great starter camera. It has fantastic macro capabilities and is for sale CHEAP on eBay. good luck to you whichever way you decide to go.
