Even with my Michigan State education, I gots some message board questions . . .

OK, I'm sure this has been covered 1000 times, but please repeat for me (remember, I'm the one who thought "lol" meant "lot's of love"):

(1) How do you get photos into these postings? I'm not talking about the signature or the id image, I just want to know how to place a photo into a posting.

(2) How does the personal messaging work? The stone man already told me that I had to turn mine on, which I think I finally did. So if someone PM's me (hey, at least I got the abbreviation on this one), do I get an email or what?

    No need to apologize, we all understand your confusion.

    You did go to Michigan State, afterall.

    To put a picture in your post, like this

    you need to click on the button that looks like the picture frame. It's just above the text box. That opens up a new window where you paste the URL for the picture you want to post. (So the picture needs to be hosted on a website somewhere, like ebay)

    When you have a PM the little lock icon will blink and I think it turns red. Whatever it does, it's pretty obvious.

    Make sense?

    Hey now don't take shots at us that went to MSU!!

    What I do is find a picture that I want to copy, right click on the image then click properties. Then I copy the URL (address) and then paste it into the blank space for the url under the image box.

    I think I have the hang of the photo insertion thing, thanks to the outstanding advice from Sparty Stingray.

    I'm still struggling a bit with the personal message thing. Does the lock blink no matter what posting I'm in?
