I'm sure most will call this fake. I did at first glance.
Now I'm just not sure.

It seem you would need a die (real or not) to make something like this.
It's on ebay for big bucks.

Any thoughts.

I talked with the seller and he is going to send the coin to ANACS. I agree that the 3 looks altered which is why I felt the coin could be fake......but authentication is the key here so hopefully we will find out what ANACS says.

There is actually a coin like this featured in ANA's 'Numismatist.' A 64-D over 63-D Lincoln that was pulled from circulation in the 60s, and it even had a letter of authentication from Walter Breen. Check it out.
