There are still some good deals on ebay

Not just coins. I picked up this copy stand for $51. It would have sold for much more, but the seller used a picture of just the box for the gallery shot, and you had to go way down the listing to see pictures of the stand itself. I was the high bidder at $51, but my max. bid did not meet the reserve price and the auction ended. However, I got a second chance offer to buy the stand at $51 (not my max.) and jumped right on it.
So far it seems to be a very good copy stand and it looks brand new. It moves the camera up, down, and in & out smoothly. The base is heavy and stable, and the upright is 32". The light arms are adjustable. The light fixtures are not the best, but I've ordered some clamps so that I can use other lights I already have. So for $51 ($82 with shipping - the thing is heavy) I think I got a good deal.

Who is General Failure, and why is he reading my hard drive?

You should have seen it before I cleaned up. The copy stand replaces a large, heavy Gittios tripod, a folding card table, a laboratory jack, and two 8' adjustable light stands with 30" umbrellas.
