Here's a thought - if the mint is going to screw around with "matte" finish coins

Why not make them TRULY different and make coins above the nickel in silver (except for the sac). It'd be the same as the proof sets, but there wouldn't be any question that the coins would now be different.

    I think so. And I've wondered for years why they don't make silver mint sets. And while they're at it, how about using the copper alloy for the cent? Ever see some of those plated Zincolns that grow the ugly green stuff?

    That would be a neat set but then it wouldn't be an "uncirculated mint set". But then again I guess what we have now aren't uncirculated mint sets either. image
