1921-P Morgan with Strange Profile - 7 pictures added
I picked up this 21-P Morgan over the weekend. Without magnification, I thought the profile was severely doubled. It also has a large dot behind the eye, another in the field under her chin, and a die chip on the left wreath.
When I looked at the profile in more detail, I noticed a gash running down her face. It's split open. Was the planchet flawed? Any ideas?

<< <i>I wonder if I've seen that one before. The dots sound familiar. >>
Here are some more photos. Let me know if it looks familiar. It's already packed for Leroy. Mail goes out in the morning.
Die chip on left wreath, die gouge in eagle's left wing, gouge in eagle's right shoulder, dot behind eye, dot in field under chin, polishing lilnes in neck, die scratches in blossom and leaf.
<< <i>AMAZING pictures ... what camera did you use? >>
Thanks. My daughter got a new cellphone with a built in camera. No, just kidding. I have a $200 stereo microscope. I hold a compact digital camera (Olympus D-40Z) up to one of the eyepieces. I usually don't post many full-coin shots because they look lousy. Don't have that part down yet and usually stick to the scanner.
I think you have a planchet error.
Please tell....what are we looking at here ?
btw....are the leaks fixed ????
