Poll: Have you ever had a phone conversation over an eBay coin transaction?

I've requested contact information before, but never called.

I've done this several times. Some people just aren't good with email. A five minute conversation can resolve a week of misunderstood emails.
  • replace coin with currency and yes
I bought a note that wasn't in as good a grade as he said (big surprise) and called him up for a refund.
He decided to go on about why life isn't fair, but he did give me my refund.

Yes, I got to peruse his other coins and it resulted in me purchasing additional coins from the gentleman for more than he was asking for but way less than the value of said coins. It was a guy in the village next to mine.

I've probably had to resort to the telephone about ten times over the years. Every time the problem was resolved.

Had a Fake Money Order One Time, I had the customer pay me by personal check instead, everything worked out ok!

  • How do you know if the money order is fake or not!

Yes, over a coin from a consigner that the seller had never seen. It was resolved with a price reduction and positive feedback.

A coin collecting buddy at my work had to deal with a seller on the phone. He sent a check for a 1 oz GAE and after a few weeks without receiving the coin he started a complaint with eBay. I think he got the address from eBay's fraud department and then found phone numbers for him based on the address. He ended up talking to the guy at his work and of course he had some lame excuses and promised to send the coin right away. After a few more weeks my friend registered a complaint with the police and of couse he received a refund from the seller in the next couple of months.

Several times, mostly the same bidder. He always pays up, but he's always very slow. I finally blocked him.

  • Yes, but only after I've calmed down. I try to explain the situation as simply as possible and so-far I (both as seller and bidder) have survived with no negatives image

I have to change my vote from No to Yes and resolved.

I did have to call a seller once after not receiving a set once and no answer to emails.

It was a high-school kid and after I talked to his dad, the kid answered my email and sent the item. He said it fell behind his desk and he forgot about it.

  • Several times.
I heard they were making a French version of Medal of Honor. I wonder how many hotkeys it'll have for "surrender."
