Why do sellers say "Paypal Cash Transfer Only"?

I do not understand this. Can the seller really tell if I pay from my checking account or my credit card? Why does it matter to him anyway? I prefer to use my credit card, just a little added protection....

The link you provided shows a seller you displays the Paypal logo with credit card icons, which would still confuse some buyers who don't read the full description. I thought there was a way to display the Paypal logo without the credit card icons also listed. He should look into that just to make his auctions 100% clear with all potential buyers.

I agree with the reason for using a CC on large transactions. If PayPal decides to be unhelpful in a dispute, your CC company will get the money back.
<< <i>This is the way PayPal offers seller accounts. One type of PayPal seller account cannot accept credit cards - this is the type of PayPal seller account which I have - I just state this in my auctions "no credit card payments through PayPal" and have never had a problem with a buyer. If not liking this...then don't bid. >>
Just curious, do you think not accepting credit card payments through Paypal has impacted the prices that you realize for your auctions? I would seem to think that there are alot of people that would bid up items if they know they will just end up charging it.
If I'm not using a credit card through paypal, I will usually send a check, then I at least have my canceled check as proof of payment in a dispute. That has never happened, but better to be safe then out a few hundred bucks.
Thanks for all your input, it makes a bit more sense now. I still do not understand why a seller would not want to accept credit cards, I believe you are limiting your bidder base by not offering that service, especially on items perceived as "large ticket" purchases. If you can get one or two more bidders on your auctions because you accept credit cards, I would think that would easily cover the 3 - 5% fee you are charged.
Although, in the case of this auction, I will probably bid on and buy the card anyway, I need this card for my set and It has NOT been readily available on ebay in a 7 as of late.

262, seller on your link has a business account (I believe). When a seller has a buyer protection logo means that it's a business account. Some sellers (who have business/premier) doesn't have logo because either they opt out or their bank account is unverified. I know a business/premier account can no longer block payments made by CC. You can use CC unless seller gives you a different email address. Even if he/she accepts cash transfer (or services, quasi cash, goods, other auctions, etc) seller still gets charge paypal fees because seller has business account. Personal account doesn't carry that logo below the seller ID.
