Presidential Review question... "Your PCGS order has shipped"

What does that mean? I just got an e-mail stating that and when I click through the submission number on PCGS is just says "Your order has been shipped on 6/21/05". Does that mean that the Presidential Review shot down my request and the coin is coming back in the same holder?

It means your coin has been reviewed and has been mailed back to you. The e-mail never says what the results are, however.

But to find out, go to the PCGS website, click on the "cert verification" link, and enter the certification number of your coin. It will tell you what the grade is now.
    When in doubt, don't.

Actually I believe this means your coin is coming back to you unchanged.image

I remember getting that email with no coin listed with the submission number.

I then typed in the cert number, and found I had made a pop 1 DCAM nickel. Always check the cert number first.

I believe that when a Presidential review comes back it says this but if you check the submission number it will not give the grade for the review. You have to wait until the mail is delievered.
  • Thanks for the information Dennis. The cert #(21880080) is no longer valid, so I guess I have to assume that.....

1)The coin was put in another holder?
2)The coin is no longer in any holder at all?

I have never gone through this, so I didn't know what to expect. My request was to have the coin downgraded from a MS66 holder.

    Hmmmm....

My interpretation is that if the coin had stayed the same, the cert number would still be active in the system.

The fact that it is no longer in the system strongly suggests to me that something has changed... in this case downgraded.
    When in doubt, don't.

  • I wonder has anyone ever tried to look for a downgrade but end up getting an Upgrade?

You mean I can pay for a review, get a downgrade, and get free money plus the coin?? Do I still pay for the review?

The cert number also stays in the system if the coin upgrades. At least it has on mine. I don't know if it stays in the system on a downgrade.

Maybe it's time to call Customer Service and ask what the outcome of the review was?

    Maybe they bagged it?

Since his was a "downgrade" review, it's certainly possible it's a bodybag.

Help me out here, why would you request a Down Grade...?

To be compensated under the grade guarantee.

  • For some reason I doubt the Presidential Review bodybagged the coin. The hit on the reverse rim is major enough to take it out of a 65-66 holder(in my view), but who knows what was determined from there. The coin should be in within a few days, so I'll post some large pics to see what the forum thinks it was graded. Of course.... a bodybag might give it away. image

To be completely frank.... I don't want the coin back, so I hope it was bodybagged. There is no appeal to any damaged rim coin in a MS holder as far as I am concerned.

When I submitted for review customer service couldn't do anything if the coin was already shipped. There's NOTHING on the paper trail about coin's grade now. The review I received was not what I expected to receive from a president review from any company. Last line was: "NO WAY 64!" Yet the coin is AT LEAST as nice as any 64 Ike I've got or seen. Perhaps this is because it was a 72 type 2? Ray
