Not to offend you MBC, but people on here will find it hard to believe that someone would not spend twenty dollars to have a card graded in order to make an extra 11,000 dollar profit. Even if the card got a lower grade then an 8 you would still do better to have it graded.

Could you just post a scan on here for everyone to check it out?

I do not think anyone would buy such a high profile card without it being graded, at leat to know that it is authentic. Even though the card looks in very good shape, without authenticity, no one is going to spend thousands of dollars and take that risk IMO.

    Stingray
  • Card looks a little short T/B and S/S IMHO.

  • I will sell this card through a third party, like escrow.com. I have had the card inspected by a pro authenticator who said it will grade. I am a dealer, and I sell ungraded cards also. Not just PSA.
  • Is it on eBay or did you just buy it off eBay?

  • Bought it on ebay.... if anyone is interested in buying it, send me your email address, and I'll email the buying info.

No you aren't. And your 51 Bowman Mantle card is FAKE.
  • You don't know me, and you can't say that. My friend bought it on ebay, and I'm basically refering buyers to him. I'm not a rip. It's a "Finders fee" thing.

Wouldn't a "Well Respected Dealer" want to make sure the card is legit before refering people?

Sooooo, if you buy it all but you only sell PSA 8, 9, and 10, what do you do with the rest?

Oh wait, I have proof he buys cards.

This is his most recent purchase. Gee. It looks like a classic eBay dutch auction junk lot to me.

Maybe it's not fair to judge him by one puchase. Wait, he bought another dutch auction lot on overstock.

What is he selling on overstock? Nothing currently, but he has sold a pair of 1971 S coin proof sets there in the past. Here is his overstock home page.

Maybe he does most of his selling on Yahoo auctions. Well, if his yahoo auction ID is davesbaseballcards, his rating is 3, with no transactions recent enough to show up and no current listings.

Oh, by the way, *YOU* didn't put it for sale on NAXCOM.
    I went to that item.

The seller is Nathan Hale, in CA (and you're in Fort Worth, TX). It's his only NAXCOM listing, and he has no transactions as a buyer or seller on the site, even though he has been a member since July 15, 2004.

You don't even have this card in your possession. The best case scenario I can construct for this is that someone you know has a badly O/C Mantle rookie (assuming it's genuine and unaltered), which he's offering for sale at $5K (and if you weren't making it up when you said you had a pro authenticator look at it, since you're 2 time zones away, he gave an opinion of the grade that would make this a card that would sell for less than $5K graded) , and you're trying to get yourself a commission on the sale.

You're not a full-time dealer. You don't have a website, and you've never given a physical address on any thread. If you do sell on NAXCOM at all, you're not a VIP seller. You don't appear to sell on eBay (or take PayPal).

You did, however, make a splash on this board on Dec. 11, 2004 by spamming 17 threads with the same message (when you presumably had a site) without disclosing that it was your site.

Your next venture onto the board was to offer 2004 SP Authentic football boxes at considerably above the price other people were paying at shows for them (while calling it the best price and hyping it).

If this is the definition of a respected dealer, I'm on the wrong planet.

I, for one, would not do business with you at all. This applies to ANY card, not just a Mantle rookie.

  • Please show me some mercy, I am pretty new to this business. I didn't know it's a reprint. I'm an honest, good man. I appoligize. I hope we can do business in the future, and I said some things that I wish I didn't. From know on, I think I will only sell PSA or GAI cards. Forgive me - I don't deseve a bad name on these boards.
