2003 Playoff Portraits - condition sensitive?!

i noticed this seller has several GAI 4.5's and 5's.. ?

am i missing something or did the seller just submit crappy cards?

Well it's the "1st graded" that ought to fetch a hefty premium

no doubt it's lame.. i just did a GAI search to see what was ending tonight and i noticed several of those low grade 2003's, i thought it was strange.. im wondering how the guy missed the flaws.. arent those cards "embossed" or whatever (kinda like oil paintings?)..
