GOETZ: K-322 Doctor Martin Luther

K 322 DR. MARTIN LUTHER, Commemorative medal, 1924, Cast AE, 67.3mm, Wt.126.30g., R, UNC. Also struck in 36mm.

To commemorate the 400th anniversary of his hymnal having been published in 1524.

Obverse: Legend; Doctor Martin Luther with Bust right.

Reverse: Legend; Reformation jubilee Jena with 1524 top and 1924 bottom. Luther, on left, shaking hands with Frederick III, elector of Saxony, known as Frederick the Wise. The crucifixion of Christ is behind them.
