Coin shop find Images

Here is what I found in that coin shop in Portland Maine. It was a day trip to the big city, at least for us, and while I found a few things I was not very impressed with the shop and their collection of darkside material. They were more on the lightside as far as coins were concerned. There was little to choose from as far as the darkside went. You couldn't sit down and cherry pick through any of the material. Each coin you wanted to see had to be taken from the case and I could tell that after a while the dealer was getting tired of taking things out of the cases for me to see. So here is what I grabed. I will go back to my old coin shop in Plymouth, NH. It's a lot more friendly and not so far away. There I only have to drive and hour and a half and not two and a halfimage

First I got this 1939 Canadian silver dollar. I really like the way it looks in hand over the images. Kinda has a PL looke to it.

Next I got this BU 1940 Vatican 1 lire to add to my small collection of Vatican coins.

And finally I added this 5 Aurar from Iceland to my Iceland collection. I liked it because of the date. I have few of the older coins from Iceland.

  • Nice finds, some shops just don't have much Darkside, hard to sustain a brick and mortar business on just foreign....image

Nice coins, even though there was little in stock.

Each coin you wanted to see had to be taken from the case and I could tell that after a while the dealer was getting tired of taking things out of the cases for me to see.

This is one of my pet peeves about some dealer's coin shops! It's their bloomin' system, so if they don't like it, they shouldn't give foreign coin customers the evil eye - they should fix the root problem!!

You're right Brad! I don't know what I was thinking at the time I was making the post. Anyway, it only cost me a dollar. It's in XF condition and lists in Krause for $25.00image
