OFFICIAL Rosemont Illinois / MidAmerica show thread...

Is that presumptuous of me to start an "official" thread? Oh well.

Please weigh in here if you're attending as a collector or dealer, or if you have any questions, concerns, etc. about the show, and I'm sure someone will be able to help.

The Foodude will be there- Table #128.

The thread attributed to me in the original post will be a year old on Monday- i.e., that was info for last year's showimage

I will be there Thurs., Fri., and probably Sat. I will not be in attendance on Sunday. Please stop by my table and say hello.

I will be there on Friday afternoon, say about 1pm. I may come back on Saturday too. I would like to meet some of the forum members. Are there any plans for a gathering?

If you go Thurs they hit you $50 for an Early Bird badge (sucks).

Friday before the show if anyone want to meet for breakfast, there is a Dennys about a mile south of the convention center.

I'm planning on going Friday between 10 and 11 AM. So far I understand a Segoja will be at talbe 400 and Foodude will be at table 128. OK so lots of us say they will be there but how will any of us know who is who? If your going to that show and will be selling at a table, how about listing who you are and the table Number?
LIsting a discription may help but them there would be a bunch of use walking around with a piece of paper staring at everyone to see if they match a discription. I am usually noticeable due to I carry a small Black over the shoulder camera bag all the time. No camera, just medical stuff and a magnifying glass.
That parking situation really makes me mad though. I heard it's $11 or so to park in the lot by the theater across the street. I live about 3 or 4 miles from there and if in better health I'd walk it rather than making Rosemont rich with parking fees. But it's only once in a while so just hope I find a coin or two that makes that parking fee worth the trouble. See you all there on Friday.

Oddly enough there are two post that are basically of the same subject and that's so rare here.

I just got the OK from the boss to miss work Friday morning in order to be at the show when the doors open to collectors. If I'm not up too late Thursday night, I'll join all of you for breakfast. What time? Is this the Denny's at 4824 N. River Road in Schiller Park?

If you miss breakfast Friday morning, and feel like checking out an unpretentious, off-the-beaten-path shrine of Chicago's improvised music scene, come join me at The Velvet Lounge from 10 PM to 1 AM. It's cheaper and more hospitable than the overrated Taste of Chicago (Waste of Chicago), with lots of good Chinese food or hot dog stands nearby. The Velvet Lounge, between McCormick Place and Chinatown will be razed in a month, after 23 years of showcasing energetic, starving creative musicians there five nights a week.

If I get back the grades I'm hoping for tomorrow or Thursday, I'll pay the $10 cover charge for any Forum member joining me at the Velvet Lounge.

PM me if you'll be in Rosemont and need to know some other safe places you'd never hear about through official tourism channels.

Yes, it looks like Teletrade will be back again this yearTeletrade

There are plenty of other booths worth visiting here this weekend.

My grades at NGC won't be available until next week (arrgh!), but my offer to pay the cover charge for any forum member who joins me at the Velvet Lounge tomorrow night is still open.

    What about breakfast, Marty?
